I'm using this image of the flag to help you think 'cool' thoughts in the heat!
Mara and Mike pulled in around 9:30 last night. They were a bit later than they thought they would be as they had to detour on Co. B because of an accident. We found out this morning that two people were killed when they tried to cross B on Town Line Rd. They were driving a Ford Escort and pulled out in front of an SUV pulling a boat. There are some hills there, but no curves. Not sure exactly what time the accident happened. Our thoughts are with their families as they cope with that tragedy this holiday weekend.
By a little after 8:00 this morning, Mara and Mike were out the door and headed over to Appleton to spend the day with various members of Mike's family, including his Grandmother who is up visiting from Iowa. They will come back here tonight, probably about the same time that we are expecting Sally, Scott and Sam to roll in. Not exactly sure what the Iowa Bacons plans are, but they will be here sometime today as well.
Most likely, with all the kids around, I won't get much posting done. Here's hoping you all have a safe, wonderful, and fun Fourth of July celebration and extended weekend! We will be celebrating Sam's birthday as well as my folks' 60th anniversary on Saturday. We will focus more on Sam on Friday, with a get-together here with our kids' cousins and their kids plus, as that is when Auntie Mara and Uncle Mike will be here. They leave EARLY on Saturday morning to go to a wedding in Chicago. So glad they could make it up here for a couple of days! My brother, Mike and his wife, Lorrie will be here for Saturday and we are looking foward to seeing them as well. Lots of stuff going on this weekend!
