We only have one Sunday off in March, so of course had to make the trek to Baldwin! Ryan is at that stage where he is changing and learning new things daily, so we didn't want to miss our chance to see him, and Sam, too! Also, we hadn't had Chinese food for a while.....inside joke! While Sam isn't growing, so as we would notice, he is constantly 'wow-ing' us with his accomplishments and abilities! He can recite most of the books his folks read to him, knows LOTS of nursery rhymes, his numbers and letters and has an imagination like you wouldn't believe! I think this is the first time in quite a while that I won the "going down for a nap" struggle! I may have lost my voice, singing to him, but darn it, I won! :)It was fun to be present at Ryan's first taste of cereal - he loved it! He also loved seeing how far he could spatter it, I think! I think his Mama will mix it a bit thicker next time.... The photos don't do it justice, but he has the cutest hair - sticks out all over his head! ;)
With our beautiful weather the past few days, the snow is all but gone. A few stray piles here and there, and where there is only northern exposure. So, now starts the scramble to get those things done that involve 'me-time' before the demands of fieldwork kick in. The guys still have some of the 2009 crop to get in before that can start. It was a rough fall/winter as far as harvesting went.
I participated in a 5 mile race last weekend, the Point Bock Run. I was pleased with my time, as I was able to maintain a less-than-10-minute-mile. Pretty fantastic, especially since I've only been running for about 9 months! I'll never be a speed-demon, but who cares??
Spring will officially be here next weekend - so get out there and enjoy it!!!
